ABOUT THE VIDYALAYA

Kendriya Vidyalaya have four-fold mission, namely -

1. To catere to the educational needs of children of transferable central Govt. employees including defence and para-millitary personnel by providing a common programme of education.
2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school, education.
3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like Central Board of Educational Research & Training (NCERT), etc.
4. To develop the spirit of National Integration create essence of "Indian ness" among children.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Asansol is one of the model schools of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, under Kolkata Regional Office & its past & present Excellency is the result for declaring it a model vidyalaya. With the passage of time it has made tremendous progress with the following features at present.

1. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Asansol has an effective & well-knit organizational set up and imparts education to the students from Pre-Primary to class XII by teachers being selected at all India level with the help of modern technology & equipments. Teachers are sent for In-service training very often to know the most upto date method of education. As a result they are able to provide quality education to children.
2. We have a nice building with spacious, airy & well-ventilated classrooms & deferent rooms for the activities of games, music, arts & SUPW departments. We have four well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Junior Science. It also have an air-conditioned Computer Laboratory having Internet facilities for vidyalaya students. It also provides free computer awareness to the children of nereby schools in the evening hours.
3. Use of audio-visual aids besides computers, informal learning opportunities through bulletin boards and excursions, utilization of community resources and the system of internal & external assesment of the students and use of rich library books throughout the academic session have contributed much in the pursuit & achievements of academic excellence.
